Tobi Amusan will make her third outing this season in the women’s 100m Hurdles when the train of the IAAF Diamond League stops at Stockholm, Sweden for its third leg on Thursday, May 30.
The Nigerian sprint hurdler will be up against some of the world’s very best in her discipline when hostilities begin in the BAUHAUS-galan at the Swedish Capital.
World record holder Kendra Harrison, who also happens to be the fastest in the event this season with a time of 12.47s which she set in Baie Mahault, France earlier in May, is undoubtedly favourite for Thursday’s race.
Amusan will also have a big contender in another American sensation, Sharika Nelvis who has a Season Best of 12.70s.
Commonwealth Champion, Amusan has the third fastest time (12.73s) going into the race. She set that time in the opening leg of the Diamond League in Doha earlier this month.
Up against a strong field which featured 2015 World Champion Danielle Williams and American stars Nelvis & Brianna McNeal, Amusan was unfazed as she stormed out of the blocks first in the field and ended up finishing 2nd behind Williams who took the win with a time of 12.66s.
On Thursday, fast rising Belarus star Elvira Herman and World Champs Silver medalist Cindy Roleder, who have both beaten the 13-seconds barrier this season, will hope they can cause an upset. Dutch woman Nadine Visser will also compete in the stacked field.
