Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has instantly grabbed the headlines at Napoli after a brilliant show on his pre-season debut as he registered three goals and an assist.
The striker bagged a hat-trick inside eight minutes as the Azzurri got a thumping 11-0 win over Serie D side L’Aquila over 45 minutes of action at the Stadio Teofilo Patini.
Osimhen literally wasted no time before scoring his first goal in a Napoli shirt. He beat L’Aquila’s offside trap to latch onto a long pass and find the net, getting the Italian giants the opener after just 59 seconds.
He got Napoli their second just a minute later before completing his hat-trick in the eight minute to make the scoreline 4-0.
Later on in the game, the Nigerian forward registered an assist as he teed up Hirving Lozano for Napoli’s eighth in the 28th minute.
Osimhen, last month, completed the switch to Napoli from Lille for an initial transfer fee of €70 million which could rise to €80 million with guaranteed bonuses. In fact, the transfer made him surpass Cote d’Ivoire’s Nicolas Pepe as the most expensive African signing ever.
The 21-year-old has eight caps for Nigeria with four international goals to his name.
