Date for 2018 All-Nigeria Championships shifted again!

The much anticipated 2018 All-Nigeria Championships, billed for the Abuja National Stadium, will now hold between Saturday, July 7 and Monday, July 9.

The shift in date was affirmed via an email from Secretary of the Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN), Akawo Amechi on Monday.

The mail read:
“This is to notify all that there is shift in date of All Nigeria Championships. The new date 7th – 9th July, 2018, The Federation apologies incontinence this change in date may have caused.
Thank you.”

The National Championships will serve as selection basis for Nigeria’s contingent to the 2018 African Senior Championships billed for Asaba from August 1st to 5th.

Events lined up for the meet in the male category are: 100m, 110mH, 200m, 400m, 400mH, 1500m, 5000m, 10000m, 20km walk race, 3000m steeple chase, discus, pole vault, shot put, javelin, hammer, long jump, high jump, triple jump, and the decathlon.

In the women’s category, athletes will compete in the 100m, 110mH, 200m, 400m, 400mH, 1500m, 5000m, 10000m, 20km walk race, 3000m steeple chase, discus, pole vault, shot put, javelin, hammer, long jump, high jump, triple jump, and the decathlon.

Official Timetable for the 2018 All-Nigeria Championships is expected to be still followed, but with the competition starting two days after schedule:
