The Nigerian Long Jump sensation’s mark on Saturday bettered the previous meet record held by Aundre Edwards (7.78m) by 2cm.

Meanwhile, another Nigerian, Benjamin Onyekwelu leaped 7.14m to place 8th in the LJ. Onyekwelu also raced in the men’s 60m dash prelims where he managed to place 3rd in his heat to seal qualification to Sunday’s final.

Abike Egbeniyi, who won team Gold in the 4x400m relay at the 2018 African Championships in Asaba, was on hand to help the Blue Raider women’s Distance Medley team emerge champion with a time of 11:52.27.
