Nigerian table tennis star Aruna Quadri has moved up two spots in the latest ITTF World Ranking released on Monday, July 2.

The ping pong veteran is now ranked the 20th best player in the World with 10234 points and has remarkably overtaken Egypt’s Omar Assar, who dropped four spots, to become Africa’s number one.

Quadri has notably earned a place in the World’s top 20, having moved to same 20th position in January 2018 – making history as the first Nigerian to reach that height.

Meanwhile, China’s superstar Fan Zhendong kept his spot as the World number one for the fourth straight month. Germany’s Timo Boll moved up two spots to second position with Ma Long having a reverse fortune, moving from 2nd place to 6th.

Lin Gaoyua moved up to third from fifth place while Dimitrij Ovtcharov and Zhang Jike are now ranked 4th and 5th respectively.
