Arowolo retains 200m title at CAA Grand Prix
Emmanuel Arowolo has once again emerged the 200m champion at the CAA Grand Prix in Yaounde, Cameroon.
Arowolo, last Saturday, clocked 21.39s to clinch the title for second consecutive year ahead of Cameroon’s Merlina Nguaguele raced in 21.44s. Romeo Manzila came 3rd in 22.40s.
In the 100m event, Arowolo had to settle for a second-place finish after Nguaguele (10.67s) came two-hundredth of a second earlier.
Arowolo was the only one of the seven Nigerians entered for the meet that eventually participated as Emmanuel Ojeli, Anita Taviore, Balikis Yakubu, Idowu Temitope Oluwabukola Emmanuel Gyang and Deborah Pam who where also scheduled to compete didn’t make the trip due to unknown reasons.
